I have been asked by a journalist about the truth of a sentence of Stuart Derbyshire’s article: ‘Honderich has also attacked the journal that carried McGinn’s review, suggesting the editors only accepted it because of “my moral defence of Palestinian terrorism against neo-Zionism”.’ The sentence is not true, and I do not make the suggestion, despite my having contemplated something related, along with others. See the New York Times article at http://www.homepages.ucl.ac.uk/~uctytho/McGinnHonderichJournalism.html
But, if your are interested in the actual subject, which is consciousness, your time would be better spent on a reply to McGinn, say just the first 4 pages: http://www.homepages.ucl.ac.uk/~uctytho/McGinnReview.html
Apologies if I got it wrong but I quoted directly from the New York Times, who quoted directly from Ted Honderich:
“Via e-mail, Mr. Honderich said that Mr. McGinn’s animus was also rooted in Britain’s class structure and that Mr. McGinn had a “chip on his shoulder.” Speculating on why The Philosophical Review published the critique, Mr. Honderich said it might have to do with “my moral defense of Palestinian terrorism against neo-Zionism,” or “my Zionism.””

All best,
