Is consciousness a ‘wicked problem’?

Conversations on ConsciousnessAt Metapsychology Online Reviews, in a new review today of Susan Blackmore’s ‘Conversations on Consciousness,’ reviewer Gert-Jan C. Lokhorst suggests that consciousness has some features of a “wicked problem” – a concept from the planning literature. There is no definitive formulation of the problem, no stopping rule, and no idea of what would constitute a satisfactory solution to the problem.
